A Palestine? It's Their Idea of a One State: PLO Terrorists and Clearly Not of Democratic Idealism

  Nadene Goldfoot
1st Terrorist leader, Sherif of Jerusalem (Haj Amin al-Husseini)
the Grand Mufti.
He fought against Emir Feisal's acceptance of Jews in Middle East
Those Arabs living today in Judea and Samaria and Gaza were created under the PLO banner.  They have not accepted Israel's creation in the Middle East and have been attacking the Jewish people there since 1929 when stirred up by their Sherif of Jerusalem, an Arab given this position by an English Jew working for the British Mandate.  They had caused a riot and attacked Jews and killed many at that time.in an unexpected pogrom.
The Arab League created the PLO in 1964.

1. Their covenant states that the borders of their future Palestine are the borders of Palestine of the British mandate so includes the state of Israel.
After the 1967 war, they attacked in earnest terror inside Israel and throughout the world to reach their goal.
1. Fatah-lead by Arafat
2. Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-George Habash
3. Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine-Nayef Hawatma

1974, PLO received status of an Observer-Member of the United Nations

From the 1960s until the 1980s, PLO members were trained in terrorist activities at the Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow.  There's the RUSSIAN  connection for you.

Military training was also given in Crimea, land already taken by Russia in the last few years.  PLO were also trained in Hungary, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia and East Germany.  I note that these countries were countries with much anti-Semitic history during WWII.

Documents captured in the 1982 Lebanon War showed that PLO members received extensive training in
1. Cuba
2. North Korea
3. Pakistan
4. India
5. Vietnam
6. China

Shah of Iran, friendly also to Israel and USA
Ayatollah Khomeini
The PLO played a role in the overthrow of the Shah of Iran, America's ally, by the Ayatollah Khomeini on February 11, 1979.  Iranian revolutionaries trained at PLO camps.  Yasir Arafat was the Ayatollah Khomeini's 1st official guest after Khomeini took power---in recognition of the aid the PLO gave to the Islamic despot.

Another PLO ally was Nicolae Ceausescu, the Rumanian tyrant.  Ceausescu gave Arafat "enormous quantities of technical intelligence paraphernalia," including electronic eavesdropping equipment, to help the PLO spy on Israel and Jordan.  In return, the PLO served as Ceausescu's Praetorian Guard in his attempts to silence Rumanian dissidents living abroad.
1. November 1977, PLO terror squad attacked and brutally beat a Ceausescu critic living in Paris.
2, Fatah members fought on the side of pro-Ceausescu forces during the civil war that erupted in late 1989.
3. PLO worked closely with other international terrorist groups including the Red Army Faction, Red Brigades, the Irish Republican Army, the Japanese Red Army, the Basque ETA and West German neo-Nazis.

Yasir Arafat, born in Egypt
Under Arafat's leadership, the PLO came up with a proposal to replace Israel with a "Democratic State."  This was outlined in their "PLO Covenant, Article 6..  It declares that only  Jews who were in Palestine before "the beginning of the "Zionist Invasion"---typically defined as 1917, the end of WWI and the year of the signing of the Balfour Declaration---"will be considered as Palestinians."

According to this, it's unknown how they would deal with Jews born in Palestine after 1917 could remain or not.  If one immigrated after 1917, such as survivors of Hitler's concentration camps, could not stay.

Arafat and his followers have never known a secular or a democratic state.  No such states ever existed in the Arab world.  Islam has been the official state religion in nearly every Arab country.  The West is the only land where where people feel sympathy and Arafat used that term to generate sympathy for his cause.

The PLO has never been a democratic party.  Leadership in it has been determined by bullets and not by ballots in voting.  One is represented by the size of his faction's militia.  Opponents are not voted out of power.  They have been murdered.  In fact, the PLO has become less secular in recent years, like many of the surrounding countries, such as Turkey.  It's happened to counter the growing influence of Islamic groups such as Hamas, which would never countenance the idea of such a Democratic state.

The PLO have a long history of terrorism.  From 1965 to the present, hundreds of Israelis and others have lost their lives in PLO terrorist attacks.  The PLO's Executive Committee have been involved in atrocities committed by these people.

1. May 30, 1972, the PFLP shot up Lod airport and murdered 27 civilians.

2. September 5, 1972, PLO killed 11 Israeli Olympic athletes in Munich, West Germany.

3. 1972 later, PLO tried to mail letter bombs to President Nixon, William Rogers the former Sec. of State, and Melvin Laird, Sec of Defense.

4. March 1, 1973, murdered US Ambassador to Sudan Cleo Noel and George Moore, deputy counselor.

5. May 1974, DFLP took over a schoolhouse at Maalot, northern Israel.  They  massacred 27 Israeli schoolchildren and wounded 134.  Children were from Tzfat (Safed) , my city.

6. March 11, 1978, PLO landed on Israel's coast and murdered an American photographer walking on the beach.  Then they commandeered a bus and shot and threw grenades form the bus window at passersby. They had killed 34 civilians and wounded 82 by time IDF stopped them.

7. October 1985, PLF terror squad led by Abul Abbas hijacked the ocean line, Achille Lauro and murdered Leon Klinghoffer, American Jew in wheelchair.
      a. October 1985, Arafat and Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Taha Ramadan signed an agreement under which Iraq agreed to provide military weapons and training to the PLO, and to give them political, financial and logistical support.

The First Intifada or First Palestinian Intifada was a Palestinian uprising against the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza, which lasted from December 1987 until the Madrid Conference in 1991, .

8. March 1988, Yasir Arafat's Fatah confessed their attempt to murder George Shultz, Sec of State by planting a car bomb near his Jerusalem hotel.

December 1988 and Arafat renounced terror  .  Now he was going to be a good boy. Sure.  He even said he would agree to recognize the existence of Israel, and for this a dialogue was opened with the USA.  It ended following more terror attacks and Arafat's support of Saddam Husseini in the 1991 Gulf War.

9. April 1989, Israel uncovered a 10 man terrorist cell in Jenin, an Arab city in Israel.  The terrorists were member of Force-17 that served as Arafat's personal bodyguard.  They had thrown Molotov cocktails and hand grenades at cars travelling in northern Israel.

10. June1989, Israel uncovered another like group in Tulkarm responsible for placing explosives in civilian areas.

11. 1989, late, PLO factions had made many attempts to infiltrate terrorists into Israel through Lebanon and Egypt.
     a. April 1990, Saddam Hussein gave the PLO a $40 million contribution.  PLO broadcasts  from a PLO radio station in Baghdad. were urging intifada rioters to throw rocks and Molotov cocktails
    b. August 2, 1990 PLO conspired with Saddam Hussein to invade Kuwait.  PLO infiltrated over 200 members of its special operations forces, together with Iraqi troops, into Kuwait before Saddam invaded with the mission to point out key targets such as the Emir's house and the homes of exiled Iraqi dissidents, and the best routs to use in entering Kuwait City.  Iraqi troops arriving were greeted by PLO forces who had the keys and  numbers of all the vault locks.
   c. PLO supported Iraq diplomatically.

12. October 8, 1990, PLO use Temple Mount tragedy as a pretext to encourage violence against Israelis.
"The 1990 Temple Mount riots, or the Al Aqsa Massacre, also known as Black Monday,[1][2][3] was an event that took place in Al-Aqsa MosqueJerusalem at 10:30 am on Monday, 8 October 1990 before Zuhr prayer during the third year of the First Intifada. They began after a decision by the Temple Mount Faithful to lay a cornerstone at the site, and Arab rioting against Jewish worshippers.  The riots resulted in the death of over twenty Palestinians, with more than 150 people injured, including Palestinian civilians and worshippers.  It was condemned by UN Security Council resolutions 672 and 673."

13. October 11, 1990 Arafat's Fatah terrorists issued a leaflet urging all Palestinians to "light fires, to stab with knives and destroy everything that can be destroyed."

14. October 21, 1990, Waves of attacks have happened but this day was the worst.  A knife-wielding Palestinian murdered 3 Israelis on a Jerusalem street.  More than 12 terrorist attacks happened against Israelis in the 6 weeks following the Temple Mount tragedy.

15. November 25, 1990, 4 Israelis were killed and 26 wounded when an Egyptian border guard opened fire on a convoy of 3 Israeli buses near Eilat.  The PLO-dominated Unified Leadership of the Intifada (UNLI) hailed the killer as a "hero of Palestine."
       a. January 29, 1991, PLO forces in south Lebanon fired 80 soviet-built Grad rockets towards many Israeli towns, including Metullah, Nahariya and Misgav Am.  They said," Our rocketing was in defense of Iraq and its people."

16. February 28, 1991, PLO crimes included the murder of a Jewish seminary student in Jerusalem's Old City
      a. March 19,1991, Arafat sent a cable to the Iraqi dictator praising his courageous leadership and thanking him for his support of the intifada.
     b. April 23, 1991, Arafat said "Arab countries should help Iraq defy the UN Security Council order to destroy its weapons of mass destruction, as required in the Gulf War cease-fire accord.
17. September 14, 1991, Attempted killing of Jewish civilian at a Jenin refugee camp.

18. 1991 later, 3 firearm attacks on Israeli vehicles when 4 Israeli civilians were killed and 8 wounded.

Over the years, IDF have prevented many other terrorist acts before they could take place, saving countless lives.  Since the beginning of this intifada, hundreds of Palestinian residents of Judea-Samaria (West Bank and Gaza) have been murdered by their fellow Palestinians, many at the behest of death squads linked to the uprising leadership.

From 2000 to 2005:  The Second Intifada, also known as the Al-Aqsa Intifada(Arabicانتفاضة الأقصى‎‎ Intifāḍat al-ʾAqṣāHebrewאינתיפאדת אל-אקצה‎‎Intifādat El-Aqtzah), was the second Palestinian uprising against Israel – a period of intensified Israeli-Palestinian violence. It started in September 2000, when Ariel Sharon made a visit to theTemple Mount, seen by Palestinians as highly provocative; and Palestinian demonstrators, throwing stones at police, were dispersed by the Israeli army, using tear gas and rubber bullets

Fatah and Hamas united for a while.
On 29 November 2012, the United Nations General Assembly voted to upgrade the status of the Palestinians to that of a "non-member observer state". It follows a failed bid to join the international body as a full member state in 2011 because of a lack of support in the UN Security Council.Nov 30, 2012.

So many have happened since 1991.  I will skip to 2016 and look at deaths by terrorism.

I'm glad to report that this list showed fewer deaths but a lot of injuries, especially from stabbing attacks.
The terrorists were usually the fatalities in the attacks.  The website below provides all the attacks that I did not copy.

Hamas grew out of the ideology and practice of the Islamic fundamentalist Muslim Brotherhood movement that arose in Egypt in the 1920s and it was legally registered in Israel in 1978 by Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, the movement's spiritual leader, as an Islamic Association by the name Al-Mujamma Al Islami. Initially, the organization followed the Muslim Brotherhood's model of acting primarily as a social welfare agency that catered especially to the Palestinian refugees in the Gaza Strip and, over time, developed a good reputation for improving the lives of Palestinians. Hamas also exerted its influence through the mosques. Today, Hamas is intimitately tied to the Islamic regimes in Syria and Iran.

In August 1988, Hamas published the Islamic Covenant, which makes clear the organization is opposed to Israel's existence in any form. It states that "there is no solution for the Palestinian question except throughjihad (holy war)." The group warns that any Muslim who leaves "the circle of struggle with Zionism" is guilty of "high treason." Hamas' platform calls for the creation of an Islamic republic in Palestine that would replace Israel. Muslims should "raise the banner of Allah over every inch of Palestine,"

This goes right along with ISIS and their goal of taking over all of the Middle East for their land as an Islamic State.

Co-founder Sheik Ahmed Yassin stated in 1987, and the Hamas Charter affirmed in 1988, that Hamas was founded to liberate Palestine, including modern-day Israel, from Israeli occupation and to establish an Islamic state in the area that is now Israel, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

"HAMAS continues to refuse to recognize or renounce violent resistance against Israel and in early 2008 conducted a suicide bombing, killing one civilian, as well as numerous rocket and mortar attacks that have injured civilians. The US Government has designated HAMAS a Foreign Terrorist Organization.

Hamas holds Gaza as their land.  Since they took over in an election pressured to hold by the West, they have rained down mortars, rockets and missiles on Southern Israel.

The change in UN acceptance allows the Palestinians to participate in General Assembly debates. It also improves the Palestinians' chances of joining UN agencies and the International Criminal Court (ICC), although the process would be neither automatic nor guaranteed. If they are allowed to sign the ICC's founding treaty, the Rome Statute, the Palestinians hope prosecutors would investigate alleged crimes against humanity  and war crimes, as they call Israel's defense, but forget about their war crimes against Israels and Jews they have attacked that brought about reprisals.

Getting recognition of Palestinian statehood on the pre-1967 ceasefire lines has largely symbolic value. Already there is wide international acceptance that they should form the basis of a permanent peace settlement.  This is what Obama expected of Netanyahu to do; go back to the pre-67 cease fire lines.  Now we know why.

This shows  that the Palestinian Arabs are not following in any peace plans with Israel so far.
