What 613 Laws Have Brought A People

 Nadene Goldfoot

Moses showing that his G-d was stronger than the Egyptian G-d.  Moses had to win over the right to take the 600,000 slaves, the work force of Egypt, out and back to their country of Canaan.  They had lived in Egypt for 400 years!  Too long!

Once upon a time, there were some 600,000 people who followed a man who taught them 613 laws to follow once they had settled down to live in their 400 year old lost homeland.  These same people have continued to follow these laws despite all sorts of roadblocks trying to get them to drop them.  This is a true story !

Moses was given the whole law while on the mountain of Sinai.  He was up there 40 days. It must have taken him the 40 years of the Exodus to write all 613 down besides telling that large group what the laws were.  We remember the first 10, that seem to be the most important ones.

The Ten Commandments, found in Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5, are a set of religious laws that form a moral foundation in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. They are: You shall have no other gods before me, You shall not make idols, You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, Remember the Sabbath day, Honor your father and your mother, You shall not murder, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, and You shall not covet. The  Ten Commandments were on 2 tablets.

When Moses heard of the people making a Golden Calf and dancing and singing around it, he shattered the tablets in his anger.  That was a left-over practice of other people who worshipped many gods and sacrificed people!  Moses' job was to change all that.

Then he remade 2 more when he had cooled down, climbed back up Mt. Sinai and rewrote the Commandments.  The new tablets were placed in the Ark which was placed in the Holy of Holies that were in the Tabernacle and then transferred to the Temple.

The year of October 7th, and on the last day--People had been celebrating Sukkot:  On each day of the holiday it is a mitzvah, or commandment, to 'dwell' in the sukkah and to perform a shaking ceremony with a lulav (a palm frond, then bound with myrtle and willow), and an etrog (the fruit of a citron tree) (collectively known as the four species). The fragile shelter, the 'now-three-item' lulav, the etrog, the revived Simchat Beit HaShoeivah celebration's focus on water and rainfall and the holiday's harvest festival roots draw attention to people's dependence on the natural environment.    These young secular adults were dancing, enjoying life!

All 613 were read in Solomon's Temple and studied by the scholars.  They've been contemplated and studied ever since.

Some people today might wonder that all people should follow these ten without being told to do so,  but evidently not.  All 613 were kept by the Jews.  They contain all the suggestions Jesus, who was said to have been a Jew from the small town of Nazareth,  made to his listeners and then many more, but he was breaking some of the laws so that the people only heard a few of them as 613 seemed like too many to follow. This must be why so many Jews have become lawyers.  We are made to follow laws.

2nd Temple:  Model of Herod's Temple (inspired by the writings of Josephus) displayed within the Holyland Model of Jerusalem at the Israel Museum    The Second Temple, built after the destruction of the First Temple, was completed and dedicated in 516/515.

It is said that besides giving his people the 613 laws in written form, he had also lectured the people of the laws.  This is called the Oral Law.  Rabbis have gotten together to study the interpretation  and analysis of the Written Law, and this was handed down through the generations to other rabbis.   BCE.     At that time, the form of the Oral Tradition of the laws was accepted by the rabbis called the Pharisees and the majority of the people.  Rabbis accepted their order of the Laws of Noah  binding upon all mankind.   They are derived from early chaptersof "Gen. (9:4-7).  Six of these laws are negative, prohibiting idolatry, blasphemy,  murder, adultery, robbery, and the eating of flesh cut from a living animal.  The positive commandment is that requiring the establishment of courts of justice.

These " Noachian Laws" were known of and discussed by European scholars in the17th century in connection with the Law of Nations.  The Law of Nations: Or, Principles of the Law of Nature Applied to the Conduct and Affairs of Nations and Sovereigns is a legal treatise on international law by Emerich de Vattel, published in 1758.  It came to us in good season, when the circumstances of a rising State make it necessary to frequently consult the Law of Nations.  Franklin also said that this book by Vattel, "has been continually in the hands of the members of our Congress now sitting".It provides at least a partial legal basis for modern conscription in the United States.[10] In the Selective Draft Law Cases (1918), upholding the Selective Service Act of 1917, the court stated:  It may not be doubted that the very conception of a just government and its duty to the citizen includes the reciprocal obligation of the citizen to render military service in case of need, and the right to compel it. Vattel, Law of Nations, book III, cc. 1 and 2. To do more than state the proposition is absolutely unnecessary in view of the practical illustration afforded by the almost universal legislation to that effect now in force.

Jews are a lawful people. They make up only 0.02% of the world population. They are the oldest religion in the world of which came Christianity and Islam.   They were created by the Laws of Moses to obey, and act accordingly with the laws.  They are human, but are under the act of the ancestors accepting the laws and the idea that they are to be held as the example for others as to live their lives in harmony and fairness. The idea of them not to eat with others wasto remind them of their laws, and eating with others would make them more accept-ing of those new friends' acts and beliefs.

Today's  newly formed Israel created on May 14, 1948, is under the Laws of Moses.  I'm afraid most people of the world are not accepting this as they see Israel shootingat Hamas terrorists and killing them.  Even some Jews do not understand what is going on.  The fact remains that Israel warns Hamas Palestinians first before enter-i  ng the arena of fighting, yet the people are under the laws of Hamas which are to hide the terrorists in their own quarters, in hospitals, ambulances, Mosques, schools.Jews have a choice;  either to fight at live or to lay down and die.  They are fighting tolive, but to live morally throughout the war.  It may be hard for some people to accept, but war is still hell, yet there are these ways to remain moral about it;  and believe meif any of us hears of some event not moral, it hurts more than anything.

Israelis are outnumbered and Hamas terrorists are restocking the terrorists fromIran, Syria, Iraq.  Hamas terrorists are the arms of Iran who are made up of Shi'is, a different type of Sunni Muslims.  Israel is being attacked on 7 different fronts!  Trump as President of the USA is the first leader to really back Israel all the way andhelp to defend them.  He is the least one would think that would be willing to take thischance as all others would not, such as Obama or Biden in backing the acceptance ofJerusalem as the capital.

This is war; but war with an army (Israel) with rules against terrorists (Hamas, Hezbollah) without; different than any other war in the world.  It also happens to be a different time, a timeeither in the end of Days or nearing it according to some believers of  Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

Richard Justin Kemp (born 14 April 1959) is a retired British Army officer who served from 1977 to 2006. Kemp was an infantry battalion commanding officer. Among his assignments were the command of Operation Fingal in Afghanistan from July to November 2003.In 2023, Kemp expressed support for Israel's actions in the Gaza Strip during the Gaza war.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCSaA7V5Uc4 is a video showing Colonel KempHe said on :  The most decent army in the world by Colonel Richard Kemp is Israel. Israel is the most moral army in the world.  The standards are high.  So Hamas has worked on trying to ruin the reputation of Israel by painting a terrible picture.

The 613 Laws have brought them  back to Judah where Jerusalem sits.  Jews have a sliver of their original lands, but are determined not to leave for any reason.

Israeli Beer, Wines And More Exported From Israel To USA

 Nadene Goldfoot

Beer festivals are held annually in Israel, of which one of the largest is in Jerusalem.  Israeli commercial beers "Goldstar" and "Maccabee" (with bottle labels in English for export), produced by Tempo Beer Industries Ltd.  Tempo Beer Industries is Israel's largest brewer and the country's second-largest beverage company, out of Netanya.

As of April 6, 2025, there is a 17% tariff on products from Israel, including beer and wine, which is a surprise move given the strong US support for Israel.  Let's hope it doesn't rise any higher !!!

Most Israeli wines are kosher;, but some small companies cannot afford to do so.  Look at the label.  According to kosher regulations, animal-based additives may not be added to the wine. So although it might not say so on the label, kosher wine is also vegan.  Kosher wine is produced the same way all other wine is made. The only difference is that from the time grapes enter the winery until bottling, grapes and wine can only be handled by a Sabbath-observant (or Orthodox) Jew. A non-Jewish or non-practicing Jewish winemaker can be involved in the process, but they may not handle the wine in barrel or tank.

There are approximately 300 wineries in Israel currently. They range from very small operations that produce a few hundred bottles of wine per year, to large wineries making more than five million bottles. The four largest producers—BarkanCarmel WineryTeperberg Winery and Golan Heights Winery—make more than 20 million bottles combined each year.

Other wineries, including RecanatiBinyamina and Tabor, each produce around one million bottles per year. A number of relatively small wineries provide balance, many with an output of around 20,000 to 30,000 bottles annually.

Israel produces 40–45 million bottles of wine per year. Most Israeli wine is consumed within the country, as just 20% is exported each year. The United States is the largest export market for Israeli wine.

Some popular Israeli wines exported to the USA include those from Yarden, Gilgal, Mount Hermon, Recanati, and Dalton, with varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc being common.

Israel ships a variety of food products to the USA, including snack foods, processed fruits and vegetables, wine, beer, planting seeds, and tree nuts.

Our Manischewitz wine, so popular in the USA at holiday time, is made in the United States, specifically in Canandaigua, New York. Concord Grape: The wine is known for using Concord grapes, which grow in upstate New York. Kosher Certification: All Manischewitz wines are certified kosher and produced under the supervision of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America.  We won't have to worry about tariff pricing on this !!!

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

  • Snack Foods: Israeli snack foods like "Bissli" (a type of crispy snack) are popular.
  • Processed Fruits and Vegetables: Israel exports processed fruits and vegetables, including fruit juices, and prepared or preserved tomatoes.
  • Wine and Beer: Israeli wines and beers are also exported to the U.S.
  • Planting Seeds: Israel is a significant exporter of planting seeds.
  • Tree Nuts: Tree nuts are another important agricultural export from Israel to the U.S.
  • Other foods:
    • Avocados: In 2023, avocado was the leading agricultural export commodity in Israel, in terms of value.  Israel is a significant exporter of avocados, with a substantial portion of its avocado
    • exports going to the United States, though Mexico is the primary supplier of avocados
    •  to the US market.
    • Date Fruits: The second most valued agricultural export from the country was date fruits.
    • Citrus: Israel is a producer and exporter of citrus, including oranges, grapefruit, tangerines, and a hybrid of a grapefruit and a pomelo, developed in Israel.  In the USA, individuals can find and purchase Israeli oranges, particularly the "Jaffa" brand, at major grocery stores, international markets, and online retailers like Costco and Instacart.

    • Tahini Paste: Al Arz Tahini Paste, which was recently voted as the best Tahini in Israel.
    • Olive Oil: Eliad Olive Oil, housed on rich basalt lands in the northern Holy Land.
    • Honey: Honey products are also exported.
    • Teas: Wissotzky teas, such as green tea with lemongrass and ginger, black mint tea, and masala chai.
    • Coffee: Elite instant coffee and mocha coffee.
    • Cookies: Abadi Delicious Middle Eastern Cookies.
    • Other: Gift boxes containing various Israeli food items are also shipped.
  • At a February 2016 JC meeting, Israel had proposed resuming negotiations on a permanent successor agreement to the current United States-Israel Agreement on Trade in Agricultural Products (ATAP). The current ATAP is the second of two temporary ATAPs that the United States and Israel have negotiated due to a disagreement over interpretation of the FTA that arose after the Uruguay Round was concluded. The first ATAP, negotiated in 1996, allowed for limited preferential tariff treatment.
  •  Under the 2004 ATAP, Israel provides the United States less advantageous tariff treatment than the United States provides Israel: the United States provides Israel with duty-free access to 90 percent of agricultural tariff lines, while Israel provides the United States with duty-free access to only 72 percent of agricultural tariff lines.
A member of the French banking family, Rothschild was a leading proponent of the Zionist movement and, beginning in 1882, provided decisive financial assistance to Jewish settlements such as Rishon LeZionZichron Ya’akov and Rosh Pina. He founded wineries and a glass factory managed by Meir Dizengoff and supported the electrification of Palestine.  Electrification refers to the process of replacing fossil fuel technologies with electric technologies, often powered by clean energy sources, aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve energy efficiency across various sectors like transportation, heating, and industry.
Israel has a rich history of winemaking, with evidence suggesting vineyards thrived as early as 5,000 years ago, with wine playing a central role in religious rituals, trade, and daily life. However, the industry faced periods of dormancy and revival, with the modern Israeli wine industry founded by Baron Edmond James de Rothschild in the late 19th century.
